Рђzerbaijan lowered essentially purchasing of metallic pipes

In January-November 2005 Azerbaijan imported 124910,2 tons of various metallic pipes for on-shore and off-shore operations, which is by 63,7% less of the similar period in 2004. For the period specified the pipes were imported for $148074 thousand, which is by 46% less of the same period of 2004, the State Statistics Committee (SSC) of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is dealing with the oil and gas operations in Azerbaijan, the foreign companies with the PSA type contracts and Joint Ventures with the foreign capital involvement.

The share of the pipe import for the oil and gas pipelines during this period is 60477 tons, which is by 77,1% less of the same period in 2004. The oil and gas pipeline pipes in January-November 2005 were imported for the amount of $64802,6 thousand, which is by 65,2% less of January-November 2004. SSC indicates also, 32079,7 tons of drilling pipes were purchased during January-November 2005, which is by 9,3% more of the same period in 2004. The total amount of import was $50334,6 thousand, which is by 17,5% more of the same period in 2004.
