The gas supply from Azerbaijan to Georgia reduced on Tuesday on technical reasons, Nika Gilauri, the Georgian Energy Minister, said to a news conference in Tbilisi, Trend reports.

According to Gilauri, it is impossible to restore full gas supply of Tbilisi in this regard.

He noted that Russia reduced the gas supply to Azerbaijan by 4m cu m in relation to the damage caused to the Gasproms compressor at the Russian-Azerbaijani border. In its turn, Azerbaijan had to reduce the volume of the gas transporting to Georgia by 1.5. cu m, or decrease from 4m cu m to 2.5m cu m.

Gilauri stressed that the gas will directed to the 9th energy block of TbilSDPS and some districts of Tbilisi. He did not exclude that despite crisis it was necessary to cut gas supply to some districts of the capital city in order to keep the pressure in communications.

Gas import from Azerbaijan to Georgia is carried out on the base of the contract concluded between the countries, envisaging fuel transportation in force-majeure, the Georgian Minister said, Prime-New reports.
