The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) sold a batch of the straight-run petrol to the Roc Oil trader, which purchased 15,000 tons of this product by Azerneftyag Oil Refinery, a part of SOCAR, at tender. Two tanker cargoes of naphta have been shipped from the Georgian port of Poti, SOCAR told Trend.
According to the SOCAR spokesman, further export sales of naphta will depend entirely on the demands of the Azerkimya State Concern, which uses this oil product as fuel for its own facilities.
Since January 2006 the Azerneftyag Oil Refinery authorization to export its output to global markets independently have been transferred to the Marketing and Economic Operations Department (MEOD) under SOCAR, which is also dealing with marketing of oil products from HeydarAliyev Oil Refinery and exporting of the Azerbaijan oil.
