The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to ship up to 120,000 tons of M-40 brand mazut produced at the Azerneftyag Oil Refinery, to Singaporean Petrofarm in March, SOCAR told Trend.
The product is supplied through the Azerbaijani-Georgian railway till the Georgian terminal in Batumi.
В"We have shipped 71,000 tons of mazut in Batumi to Petrofarm since the start of March, SOCAR has said.
Petrofarm bought 200,000 tons of the M-40 brand mazut from SOCAR at tender with shipment during 2006. The Department of Marketing and Economic Operations (DMEO) under SOCAR will be dealing with it. Since January 2006 the powers of Azerneftyag to export its output to global markets independently have been transferred to DMEO SOCAR, which is also engaged in selling the oil products from Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery and exporting the Azerbaijani oil.
