300,000 barrels of oil will be transported a day (over 15m tons a year) via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline from mid-2006, Trend reports referring to the report by BP over 2005.
The document says that oil export via BTC will exceed 1m barrels a day or over 50m tons a year by 2009.
Opening of this direction will allow BP to double oil extraction and this growth will comprise 20% by 2010, the report says.
At present fulfillment of the pipeline with technical oil continues. The complete fulfillment of the pipeline requires 10m barrels of Azeri Light, delivered from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field.
