2394, 9 tons of different metallic pipes for offshore and onshore use have been imported to Azerbaijan in January- February 2006, which is on 44, 2% less than in the last year. $31046, 400 have been spent on pipes 20, 3% less than in 2005, the State Statistic committee told Trend.
All oil and gas operations in Azerbaijan are controlled by SOCAR and foreign companies working on PSA type of contracts with the participation of foreign capital.
3282, 900 tons of pipes have been imported for oil gas pipelines this January- February; 90, 2% less than in the last year. In addition, 8309, 300 tons of pipes have imported for drilling needs; 93, 7% more than in the similar period of the last year. Their total cost reached $8841, 7; 81, 3% more than in 2005.
