In January-April 2006 State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic alone drilled 39.191m of wells, down 10.211m year-over-year, SOCAR officials told Trend.
In April SOCAR alone drilled 14,099m against planned 10,773m.
This year SOCAR plans to install three large platforms at developed oilfields. Two of them are installed at Nefyaniye Kamni and one at Guneshli. Upon the platforms installation at Nefyaniye Kamni, 48 wells will be drilled from each of them. As a result, oil production will rise by 25% and total 1mln ton.
During 1Q2006 SOCAR drilled 38,941m of production wells, down 10,165m over year.
