SOCAR supposes entrance of first oil to BTC from Kazakhstan in 2007

Oil&Gas Materials 26 May 2006 13:06 (UTC +04:00)

The State oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) does not rule out that in 2007 a definite volume of oil produced in Kazakhstan will flow to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export oil pipeline, a senior official of SOCAR, a participant of BTC Co, told Trend.

There is still place in the pipeline. The sides are currently coordinating the tariffs for oil pumping and they will be more profitable than the cost of deliveries by rail. The talks now continue between BTC Co and Kazakh oil producers, the SOCAR official informed.

The Azerbaijani-Kazakh intergovernmental and interstate agreement will not specify the volume of oil pumping via the BTC. It will give only principle agreement or the oil from the Kashagan field, as well as different fields to enter the BTC, the same source underlined.
