The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) drilled with Khazar 4 jack up a pre-drilling well in the south part of West Absheron field 2 months ahead of schedule, the SOCAR told Trend.
The wells with the depth of some 800 meters each have been conserved for further production from the platform. After the assimilation the debit of the well was 5 tons of oil a day (1,800 tons a year).
The field opened was efficient for exploitation. It is located not far from the coast and oil transportation communication. At present the delimitation and estimation of reserves in this part of the field is underway.
SOCAR is going to install a drilling platform in the southern part of West Absheron field. It will be installed in the coastal zone in 40-50 meters of the coast. Specialists urge there is 1.5 million tons of equivalent duel in this field.
