In January-June 2006, the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) developing the offshore block Azeri-ChiragGuneshli (ACG) produced 10.041mt of Azeri Light oil in the entire contract area, up 4.993mln over year. The production rise is explained with commencement of production at West Azeri in January 2006.
AIOC officials told Trend that during January-June 2006 production at Chirag totaled 3.703mln ton against 3.492mln ton in 2005. During January-June 2006, 6.338mln ton of oil have been produced at Azeri field (both West and Central) against 1.556mln ton in 2005.
During June 2006, oil production totaled 1.819mln ton against 1,851mln ton in May. Chirag platforms in June produced 618.853kt against 642.29kt in May. West and Central Azeri platforms produced 1.200mln ton of oil against 1.209mt in May.
