The European Commission (EC) expressed its satisfaction with putting Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline into exploitation. The press-secretary of the representative of European Commission on energy issues Ferran Tarradellas Espuny told in his interview with the European mass media on July 10 that EC attaches a great importance to the realization of BTC, Trend reports with reference to a Turkish mass media.
According to Espuny, the EC representative on energy issues Andris Piebalgs will also participate in the official opening ceremony of BTC in Ceyhan on July 13, and this is the clear example of importance of the project for Europe.
EC with great pleasure accepts the opening of the pipeline, which is an alternative to the energy resources for all European Union, told Espuny, noting that due to BTC, the role of Turkey in the region will increase.
Besides, the representatives of the EC voiced that importance of taking measures for the sate operation of pipeline.
