Batumi Oil Terminal Increases Oil Delivery

January to September 2006 the Batumi terminal delivered a total of 9.2 million tons of oil cargo against 6.8 million tons in 2005 sources of the Port told Trend.

In September the delivery made up 733,700 tons against 932,000 million tons in August 2005.

The Batumi oil terminal is capable of handling up to 15 million tons of bulk oil cargo a year. The terminal services tankers of 30,000-90,000 tons deadweight on four berths including a special buoy for the vessels of the Aframax class. At the moment the terminal's tank loading capacity is about 530,000 tons, which is more than enough for the handling of current and forecasted cargoes.
