Building of the third capacity considered for injecting water on the deep-water section of the Gunashli field. It will cost $300 mln. These means are expected to be given over the value of project Phase 3 of the full-scale development of field blocks, a source in BP Azerbaijan told Trend today.
The installation of the underwater manifold will allow additional production of 50 mln. barrels of oil on this section of the field. At the same time, if the injection from the two first manifolds is expected to be launched together with the production in 2008, then the third capacity will be launched later on.
Earlier, the parties of the Project on the Full-Scale development of ACG block of fields, made a decision on construction of the eastern underwater manifold to inject water of Phase 3. That will be the third capacity for the underwater injection within the project. The eastern manifold will allow injecting additional 200.000 barrels of water per day to the reservoir on a deep-water Gunashli via four wells with the subsea well head, drilled from the single underwater drilling centre. The projecting and implementation of the purchases of al the equipment, except flexible flow lines have been implemented by 20 percent.
The delivery of the underwater equipment considered for both the northern and southern sides has commenced in June, 2006, and the tests has been launched in September, this year. Two piles have already been installed on the fields, where the northern and southern manifolds to be set up. This system wil allow injection of over 400.000 barrels of water a day to the reservoir on deep-water Gunashli via six wells with the subsea well head drilled from the two underwater driling centres at a lenght of about 5 km from the platform.
