Shahin Ismayilov, the General Director of the Oil and Gas Production Unit Azneft of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), informed Trend that in 2006 the average daily production of oil (together with the condensate) comprised of 21.480 tons against the forecast of 21,050 tons.
In 2006 Azneft produced 7.84mln tons of oil, 2.1% (158,140 tons) more than was forecasted, Mr. Ismayilov claimed.
The average daily gas production by Azneft made up 12.21mln cu m against the forecast of 10.96mln cu m. In 2006 Azneft lifted 4.46bln cu m of gas.
In 2006 the production unit also increased the figure on oil and gas handing to the government. Last year Azneft handed in 7.77mln tons of oil, 2% more than 2005 and 3.79bln cu m of gas, up 15.5% from 2005.
