Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The Vice President of BP Azerbaijan for Azeri Project, Brus Luberski, briefed the media on 15 March that until the end of 2007 the number of the employees of Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) involved in Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli project will be 3000 instead of present 8400. The sharp decrease is justified through the completion of the large part of construction work over the project.
According to Luberski, presently 8400 people have been involved in the project, with 80% of the Azerbaijanis.
As a result of 2006, the number of the companies with Azerbaijani capital, working with BP, was 537. The number of the companies has increased by 52 as comprised to the third quarter of 2006. Of companies working with BP in 2006, 63 were State, 30 - joint ventures 444 - small and medium enterprises.
