Azerenerji to Launch Several Blocks of Module Electric Power Station in Sangachal

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / Marlen Asgarov, the Azerenerji Vice President, said that Azerenerji Joint-Stock Company commenced preparing the territory for construction of module power station with a capacity of 300 MW/h in Sangachal. Azerenerji is considering opportunities for the commissioning of three new modules of power grid in Sangachal by the end of 2007. The construction work over the project is intended to commence in 2007.

Earlier, Azerenerji Joint-Stock Company and Finnish company Wartsila signed a contract on the construction of a new module power grid in Sumgayit with the capacity of 300MW.

Azereneji said that Swiss-Swedish company ABB will also play a part in the construction work. The construction work is scheduled to be completed by September 2008.

Wartsila presented new technology on switching the module power station in Sangachal from gas to mazut and vise versa to intensify the process. Earlier the company proposed the transition for 24 hours. Currently it takes 30 minutes.

The construction of energy generating power in Sangachal is needed for high quality and uninterrupted electricity provision of the Absheron peninsular.
