SOCAR Publicizes Volume of Oil Export

Azerbaijan, Baku, /corr Trend S.Aliyev / In January to March 2007 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported approximately 1,576,300 tons of crude oil.

The SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations Department reported that some 183,431 tons of oil was transported via the Baku-Novorossiysk route. In this period oil transportation was not carried out via the Baku-Supsa route due to repair work on this oil pipeline.

SOCAR exported 160,594 tons of oil by rail in the direction of the Georgian Black Sea port of Batumi.

Export via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan totalled 1,232,309 tons of oil.

In 2006 export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline made up 1,172,000 tons of oil (in 2005 it was 1,631,000 tons). A total of 1,155,000 tons of oil was transported via the Baku-Supsa pipeline in 2006 (in 2005 it made up 1,263,000 tons).

A total of 1,135,000 tons of oil has been transport by railway to the Georgian Black Sea port of Batumi (in 2005 it was 4,141,728 tons). Oil export via BTC made up 1,402,951 tons (export via this route was to set up in May 2006).
