Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / David Wolfe, the business manager of the pipeline company BTC Co reported that 1 million barrels of light oil a day, produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields, have been pumped via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan export oil pipeline.

Wolfe said that daily deliveries of oil via the BTC comprised 630,000 barrels of oil on average.

At present research is being carried out into the increase of the discharge capacity of the pipeline to 1.2mln barrels of oil a day.

"Following the commencement of oil pumping from the Kazakh field of Kashagan, the capacity of BTC may increase to 1.4-1.6mln barrels a day," he added.

From 2008 the BTC will transport oil produced from the Kazakh field of Tengiz, which is operated by US ChevronTexaco Tengizchevoil consortium.

The quality bank under the BTC project functions on the principle of the mutual settlement of oil volume among cargo deliverers.
