Azerbaijan Increases Export of Light Oil by Almost 4 mln Tons in January-April

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend / In January to April 2007 the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), which is involved in the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields (ACG) has exported 9,38 mln tons of Azeri Light oil, 3.9mln tons more than last year.

AIOC announced that in the first quarter of 2007 export had ceased via the Baku-Supsa (western route) due to repair work in the pipeline. In January to April 2006 a total of 2,333 mln tons of oil was transported via this route. In January to April export via the Baku-Novorossiysk (northern pipeline) made up 696,800 tons against 1,334 mln tons in the first quarter of 2006. Export in the Georgian direction to the Batumi port made up 749,125 mln tons of oil in January to April 2007, against 1,839mln tons in 2006. During this period 7,935 mln tons of oil was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

In April AIOC (excluding ExxonMobil and Devon companies) terminated oil export via Baku-Novorossiysk route and in the direction of Batumi port. In April 2006 a total of 340,810 tons of oil was transported in this direction.

In April 2007, 2,144 mln tons of oil was exported via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
