Testing of Registration Junction of SCP Gas Pipeline Begins in Turkey

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Turkey is able to receive gas from the Azerbaijani field Shah Deniz. At present work over testing of the gas junction located in Georgia in 40km of the state border with Georgia is underway. Once the commission has been completed, Turkey will be able to receive Azerbaijani gas.

The Azerbaijan Government announced on 10 May that the construction of the South-Caucasus gas pipeline ( Baku - Tbilisi - Erzerum) is fully complete. The section of the gas pipeline to the border with Turkey is also operational.

Shah Deniz gas is delivered via the South Caucasus Pipeline. The daily production rate of the well in the gas condensate deposit has reached 5.1 mln cu. m. Another well will be commissioned on the field by the end of May this year and the production from the Shah Deniz field will reach 10mln cu m of gas per day.

Within the framework of Stage 1 of the Shah Deniz development project, 8.6bln cu m of gas will be produced per year. In 2007, 2.8bln cu m of gas will be produced on Shah Deniz. In the occurrence of an increase of production by 1bln cu m, partners on the same level can achieve up to 9.6bln cu m.
