Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Turkey stands ready to begin receiving natural gas from Azerbaijan via the South Caucasus Pipeline from Shah Deniz field, said the Executive Director General of the Turkish Company of BOTAS, Saltuk Duzoil, Reuters reports. " Turkey is 100% ready to receive gas from Shah Deniz," Mr. Duzoil said. Presently the gas from the Shah Deniz field is transported to Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The contract on development of offshore Shah Deniz field was signed on 4 June 1996. The project's participants are BP (operator) - 25.5%, Statoil - 25.5%, NICO - 10%, Total - 10%, LukAgip - 10%, TPAO- 9%, and SOCAR - 10%.
