Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia / ВР has intentions to restore the pumping of Azerbaijani oil through the Baku-Supsa pipeline only after provision of all security norms. It will be possible only by summer, the General Manager of the BP-Georgia company, Hugh McDauell, said to journalists.

According to McDauell, the construction of a bypass pipeline in Zastafoni, West Georgia is in progress.

"We have intentions to complete the construction of this part of the pipeline this summer and to put it into operation only when its full security is proved," McDauell said.

The bypass pipeline is being built due to the threat of landslides, as a part of the pipeline is in a landslide area.

Oil transportation through Baku-Supsa was suspended in November, 2006 due to anomalies founded in the pipeline. They have been liquidated.
