Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend / Azerenergy JSC completed the preparation work on the construction of a module electric power station in Sangachal with a capacity of 300 MWt, a source in JSC stated.
The water supply line and two 6KWof electricity transmission lines were liquidated during the work. After the completion of all works, the territory was presented to the Finnish construction contractor company, Wartsila. The construction work which will be carried out jointly with Wartsila is scheduled to be completed by late 2008.
The Swiss-Swedish company ABB will also play a part in the construction work which is scheduled to be completed by September 2008. Wartsila introduced new technology to intensify the process of switching the module power station in Sangachal from gas to mazut and vice versa. Previously the transition took 24 hours and currently only takes 30 minutes.
The construction of energy generating power in Sangachal is needed for high quality and uninterrupted electricity provision of the Absheron peninsular.
