Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / Natik Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Industry Minister, stated in Baku on 5 June that over $1bln is required for the overall establishment of a chemical industry in Azerbaijan.
In accordance with the estimation received from British consultants,in 1994-1995 the work to rehabilitate the chemical industry in Azerbaijan was estimated at $500mln. At present Azerikimya state chemical company includes large enterprises in which the production of raw material is closely related with the EP-300 plant. "It is very easy to develop a concept based on crude materials through the EP-300 plant. This should be achieved," he urged.
The State Program on the Development on Non-oil Industry in 2007-2012 envisages the designing of this concept in a short time frame.
