Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend U.Ismayilova / At the opening of 14th Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference incorporating oil refinery and petro-chemistry in Azerbaijan which began in Baku, on 5 June, Yusuf Yazar, the Deputy Secretary of the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, stated the Caspian gas delivery to Europe can be significantly increased through export via the territory of Turkey.
" Turkey regards the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline as its most important project," he added.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Hartmurt Schnider, the German Deputy Federal Minister for economy and technology, said that at present the Caspian region is the focus of the international community. According to the minister, the region has its difficulties and opportunities. The difficulties are linked with the efficient use of income obtained from the export of oil and gas.
Germany wishes to become a partner with Azerbaijan on energy issues, the deputy minister stressed. Earlier, the representative of the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology on Central Asia, Caucasus, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, Frank Wizing, stated that Germany is considering Azerbaijan's opportunities for natural gas importation.
Germany's total demand in natural gas is 100bln cu m a year.
