Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Aliyev, V.Sharifov / Ceasing activity at the cat cracker in the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev (former "Azernetfyanajag") for extraordinary repairs this week led to a decrease in volume of oil for export.

According to information provided by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), in July SOCAR will increase oil export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline twice over to 164,000 tons. The additional volumes of oil will be transported by the Israeli company Oil Refineries LTD who in July bid for 84,000 tons of oil from SOCAR.

"We have already submitted an application to Transneft to increase oil exportation via the pipeline," the same source stated.

The decrease in oil exportation is linked to a cut in production of mazut which is refined at the cat cracker in the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev. SOCAR also explains the decrease by a cut in the demand for mazut which is used for electricity production.

The production of liquid gas has been stopped as a result of ceasing cat cracker in the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev. The repair should be completed by the end of July.
