Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr U. Ismayilova / The trust of the State Oil Company Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) - "Oil and Gas Construction" - is rehabilitating a part of the Georgian Navtlugi-Gardabani main gas pipeline.
According to the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, the agreement for the Trust to do the job was signed in Tbilisi on 30 July by the Director-General of the corporation, Aleko Khetaguri, and an authorized representative of SOCAR, Mirkazym Abbasov.
The area intended for rehabilitation makes up 30km. Once this has been done, the gas supply via the old schemes will be restored. The Trust will replace the 500mm pipeline with a pipeline 700mm in diameter.
The Trust is implementing a number of significant projects in Georgia including the project to rehabilitate 4 parts in the South main gas pipeline within the framework of 'Calls of Millennium to Georgia' project.
