Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Russian 'Inter RAO YES' intends to supply electricity to Turkey via the Azerbaijan and Georgia, said the Vice President of Azerenergy JSC, Marklen Askerov, on 1 August.

According to the information by the JSC, currently Russia supplied electricity to Turkey from the Krasnadar region via Georgia. However, this 500-KWt line passes through mountainous territories and it presents problems in the winter period. The electricity supply is expected to be carried out via Azerbaijan. Talks will take place between the Russian company and Azerbaijan's Azerenergy in the near future on this issue.

Currently Russia supplies electricity to Azerbaijan for its internal use. The countries carry out an electricity exchange.
