Money transfers within Kazakhstan increase threefold

The volume of remittances sent through money transfer systems within Kazakhstan in 2018 amounted to 72.9 billion tenge, which is 3.1 times more than in 2017, Trend reports via Ranking.kz.

Of the money transfer systems used for making the remittances, KoronaPay was the leader - 26.1 billion tenge, which is 4.8 times more year-on-year. Its share among all the money transfer systems rose from 23.3 to 35.8 percent.

Next comes Unistream – 1.2 billion tenge, which is 81.8 percent more year-on-year. The share decreased from 2.8 to 1.6 percent.

Contact ranked third with 1.3 billion tenge, growth of 53.6 percent. Its share among the money transfer systems fell from 3.7 to 1.8 percent.

At the same time, the number of transactions within Kazakhstan increased by 31.9 percent in 2018, to 294,500.

KoronaPay had the highest growth in the number of transactions: 7.6 times, to 146,600, which is almost half of all money transfer system transactions within Kazakhstan.

Contact was second with an increase of 3.6 times, to 4,300, while Unistream ranked third: growth of 2.4 times, to 4,800 transactions.
