The average monthly wage per employee was 168, 489 tenge in Kazakhstan in January-March 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.
In the first quarter of this year, the size of the average monthly salary increased by 10.5 percent in nominal terms, and by 5.2 percent in real terms compared to the same period of 2018.
In the sectoral structure, the highest nominal wages were noted in the mining industry and quarrying – 401,100 tenge (which is 2.4 times higher than the national average), in financial and insurance activities – 323,000 tenge (1.9 times ), in the field of professional, scientific and technical activities – 296,300 tenge (1.8 times), in the field of information and communication – 253,000 tenge (1.5 times) and in the field of transport and warehousing – 218,200 tenge (1.3 times).
The lowest level of nominal wages was recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 93,200 tenge, which is 44.7 percent lower than the national average.
In the regional context, the highest nominal wages were recorded in the Atyrau region – 322,700 tenge, which is 1.9 times higher than the national average. In the Turkestan region, its value amounted to 109,000 tenge, which is 35.3 percent lower than the national average.
