In Kazakhstan, conditional deposits mainly preferred by legal persons

During first four months of 2019, the volume of deposits in banks of Kazakhstan decreased by 2.3 percent compared to the beginning of the year, Trend reports citing LS news agency.

As at the end of April 2019, the volume of deposits in Kazakh banks amounted to 16.6 trillion tenge, compared to 17.04 trillion tenge in January 2019.

In fact, during the reporting period, the sum slightly over five trillion tenge was kept on current accounts in the banks (-4.5 percent since January 2019). Furthermore, some 4.05 trillion tenge of the sum accounted for legal persons' deposits, whereas 1.01 trillion tenge accounted for physical persons' deposits.

Demand deposits decreased by almost two percent from 361 billion tenge to 354.6 billion tenge. The largest decrease was displayed by legal persons' deposits (from 58.5 billion tenge to 52.2 billion tenge).

Furthermore, the volume of physical persons' demand deposits stayed practically the same (302.4 billion tenge in April compared to 302.5 billion tenge in January).

The major part of deposits accounts for time deposits. The volume of time deposits amounted to 11.1 trillion tenge (minus one percent since January 2019).

Some 3.8 trillion tenge of the sum accounted for legal persons' deposits, whereas 7.2 trillion tenge accounted for physical persons' deposits.

The least amount of deposits accounts for conditional deposits. Since the beginning of the year, their volume increased by 5.8 percent from 123 billion tenge to 130.1 billion tenge. Furthermore, the majority of the conditional deposits accounts for legal persons deposits (125.2 billion tenge). The volume of physical persons conditional deposits equaled to five billion tenge.
