Kazakhstan's cash in circulation growing

In April 2019 the volume of cash in circulation in Kazakhstan amounted to 2.207 trillion tenge, which is 0.6 percent more than in the previous month, Trend reports via Inbusiness.

Compared to the beginning of the year the same volume has decreased by 2.3 percent.

In turn the volume of money supply decreased by seven percent since the beginning of the year, whereas the volume of monetary base decreased by 14.4 percent in the same period (-8.9 percent in April).

The volume of monetary base in the narrow meaning (excluding the time deposits of seconds tier banks in National Bank of Kazakhstan) did not change in April and amounts to 5.086 trillion tenge.

However, the same volume decreased since the beginning of the year by 15.2 percent.

In 2018 the money supply increased by seven percent and equaled 20.813 trillion tenge, whereas the monetary base increased by 20.1 percent and stood at 6.651 trillion tenge.
