Foreign exchange reserves up in Kazakhstan

According to the preliminary data, gross foreign exchange reserves of Kazakhstan have increased by 0.5 percent in June and amounted to $28.2 billion, which is, however, 8.9 percent less than in the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to bank’s data.

“Total foreign exchange reserves of the country, including foreign currency denominated assets of National Fund ($58.2 billion), equaled $86.4 billion as at the end of June,” the report said.

During the reporting period, the value of reserve money of Kazakhstan amounted to 6.346 trillion tenge, which is 4.1 percent less that in May and 4.6 percent less than in the beginning of the year. The narrow reserve money equaled 5.242 trillion tenge with a decrease of 5.1 percent since May and of 12.6 percent since the beginning of the year.

The broad money value amounted to 19.537 trillion tenge, which is one percent less than in May and 6.1 percent less than in the beginning of the year. The value of currency in circulation stood at 2.231 trillion tenge, which is a decrease by 0.6 percent since May and by 1.3 percent since the beginning of the year.
