Foreign exchange reserves of Kazakhstan down in July

The gross international reserves of the National Bank of Kazakhstan decreased by 1.84 percent in July and amounted to $27.7 billion according to the preliminary data, Trend reports with reference to the Bank.

Furthermore, this sum has decreased by 10.43 percent since the beginning of the year.

“International reserves overall, i.e. including the foreign currency denominated assets of the National Fund ($58.2 billion) equaled $85.9 billion as at the end of July 2019,” the report said.

Net foreign exchange reserves of Kazakhstan also decreased by 1.86 percent since June and by 10.58 since December 2019 and equaled $27.219 billion.

In turn, the assets in freely convertible currency (CFC) have decreased by 8.44 percent since June (decrease of 38.16 percent since December 2018) and amounted to $10.226 billion. The assets in gold stood at $17.476 billion, which is 2.48 percent more than in June and 21.44 percent more than in December 2018.
