The Azerbaijani National Depository Center (NDC) registered 2,547 exchange transactions on purchase and sale of securities in the amount of 7.865 billion manats in January-July 2019, Trend reports on Aug. 21 referring to NDC.
The total number of exchange transactions remained almost unchanged in compared to January-July 2018; however, their share in local currency increased by 8.5 percent and amounted to 2,247 transactions (88.2 percent of the total number).
Some 300 transactions were concluded in dollars (11.8 percent) in January-July 2019, which is 41.8 percent less than in January-July 2018.
The total volume of registered exchange transactions (in local currency and in dollars - $7.841 billion and 24.126 million manats, respectively) increased by almost 20 percent in January-July 2019 compared to January-July 2018.
The share of the volume of transactions concluded in local currency remained almost unchanged and amounted to 98.9 percent of the total volume due to a three-fold decrease in the volume of transactions registered in dollars.
The number and volume of transactions in dollars sharply increased in July, showing the highest growth since February. Some 57 transactions worth 6.117 million manats were concluded for the month.
