The budget deficit in Kazakhstan is forecast at the level of 2.1 percent of GDP in 2020, with a subsequent decrease to 1.5 percent of GDP in 2021, and to one percent of GDP in 2022, Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Ruslan Dalenov said, Trend reports with reference to the press office of prime minister of Kazakhstan.
He made the statement at a government session chaired by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, during which Dalenov presented forecast of budget parameters 2020-2022, which has been developed based on the macroeconomic projection.
“The revenues of the republican budget (excluding transfers) are projected to reach eight trillion tenge in 2020, 8.6 trillion tenge in 2021, and 9.4 trillion tenge in 2022,” said Dalenov.
The non-oil deficit will decrease to seven percent of GDP in 2020 (8.5 percent of GDP in 2019), with a subsequent decrease to 5.1 percent of GDP in 2022, he said.
“Based on these parameters, the republican budget expenditures are forecast to reach 12.7 trillion tenge in 2020, 13.2 trillion tenge in 2021 and 13.6 trillion tenge in 2022,” Dalenov concluded.
