Volume of problem loans down in Azerbaijan

The volume of problem loans decreased by 16.5 percent (294.7 million manats) and reached 1.487 billion manats in July 2019 compared to July 2018, Trend reports on Aug. 30 referring to the Azerbaijani Central Bank.

The volume of credit investments of private banks in the Azerbaijani economy as of August 1, 2019, amounted to 11.14 billion manats. Since the beginning of the year, their volume has increased by 5.1 percent, while on an annualized basis - by 21 percent. The share of credit investments by private banks amounted to 81.4 percent, having increased by 0.6 percent since the beginning of the year.

The volume of credit investments by state banks in the country's economy amounted to 2.2 billion manats. Since the beginning of the year, their volume has increased by five percent, while on an annualized basis - by 21 percent. The share of credit investments by state banks amounted to 16.1 percent, similar with the indicators as of the beginning of the year, while increasing by 1.1 percent on an annualized basis.

The volume of credit investments of the non-bank credit organizations amounted to 339.1 million manats (a decline by 15.5 percent for the year). Their share in the total volume of credit investments is 2.5 percent (the indicator for July 2017 is 3.3 percent).

In total, the volume of credit investments in the Azerbaijani economy is 13.681 billion manats. Since the beginning of the year, this amount has increased by five percent, while by 12.4 percent for the year.

The volume of loans in national currency amounted to 8.9 billion manats in July 2019 (an increase of 19.2 percent compared to July 2018) and their share in the loan portfolio of banks amounted to 65.37 percent.

The loans in the foreign currency worth 4.737 billion were issued in manat equivalent (an increase of 1.4 percent compared to July 2018) with a specific weight of 35.33 percent.

The volume of short-term loans amounted to 1.508 billion manats, long-term loans – 7,435.7 million manats.
