Azerbaijan's non-cash payments are showing growth, General Manager for Caucasus at Visa Inc. Cristina Doros said at a press conference on September 10, Trend reports.
According to Doros, the share of non-cash payments in card transactions in Azerbaijan amounted to 20 percent during the first half of 2019, which is 4 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
During the reporting period, the number of transactions increased by 40 percent compared to the same period last year, while the amount of cashless transactions increased by 39 percent.
Compared to last year’s figures, the average receipt size was reduced by 14 percent to 54 manats . According to Doros, this is a positive trend, as it indicates that customers have started using cards even for small operations.
