Georgia leads by per capita investment ratio among countries of EBRD

Georgia leads by per capita investment ratio among partner countries of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), said First Vice President of EBRD Jürgen Rigterink, Trend reports citing the press service of the prime minister of Georgia.

Rigterink made these remarks at a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Georgi Gakharia during his visit to Tbilisi.

“The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is not only our most important partner, but also an organization that has played a key role in the development of Georgia and has funded more than 200 projects over many years of cooperation,” Gakharia said.

The prime minister added that Georgia appreciates the bank’s contribution to the development of the country. According to Gakharia, the importance of the current partnership between Georgia and the EBRD is also confirmed by the visits of the organization’s leaders.

The prime minister of Georgia and the first vice president of EBRD expressed readiness to expand cooperation in other areas.

“We talked about the high level of cooperation between the EBRD and Georgia.To date, we have invested 3.4 billion euros in Georgia under 235 projects. This is really impressive, as Georgia leads in the ratio of per capita investment among our member states,” said Rigterink.

He invited Gakharia to attend the Eastern Partnership Summit of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which will be held in London in November.
