Danish company Ramboll will prepare a 15-year master plan for the development of transport in Georgia'sTbilisi, said the city's Mayor Kakha Kaladze at a meeting of the city government, Trend reports citing newsgeorgia.ge.
Ramboll won the tender announced by the municipal fund. The tender was held with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank.
At the moment, the French company Systra is also working on the transport policy of the city. However, the French company is only planning public transport routes, and the Danish company will work on a strategic document.
The development of a transport document will take approximately 11 months.
The document will determine in detail all aspects of the development of transport - public and private, distribution cars and bicycles, as well as the movement of pedestrians. This will help develop the transport infrastructure of Tbilisi in accordance with modern requirements and facilitate the unloading of traffic in the city.
“Together with foreign experts, we began work on a plan for sustainable urban mobility, which will be the main transport document. It will be a 15-year document,” Kaladze said.
