Azerbaijan exported tomatoes worth $141.5 million in January-August 2019, which is 2 percent less than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the Export Review published by Azerbaijan's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
Gold worth $107.7 million, showing an increase of 33 percent, ranks second in volume on the list of goods exported by Azerbaijan, while raw cotton ranks third ($85.1 million, an increase of 49 percent).
In the reported period, Azerbaijan also exported peeled hazelnuts ($76.1 million), electricity ($58.4 million), primary polyethylene ($50.8 million), primary polypropylene ($48.1 million), methanol ($48.1 million), cherry and sweet cherry ($42.2 million) and other goods ($620.1 million).
In August 2019, such goods as gold ($22.7 million; 1.8 times increase), raw aluminum ($11.6 million; 1.4 times increase) and methanol ($9.6 million, 3.5 times increase) were in the lead in terms of the volume of the exported goods.
