The ratio of Azerbaijan’s external debt to gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 17.6 percent at the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to published data of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) website.
Azerbaijan’s external debt totals about $8.9 billion.
Thanks to the low ratio, Azerbaijan ranked ninth, slightly behind the Solomon Islands, the index of which was 14.6 percent, and slightly surpassing Kuwait with a ratio of 17.8 percent.
