Uzbeks acquire $1 B in country's banks in 2019

The total volume of transactions of purchase and sale of foreign currency by individuals (in cash and non-cash) through exchange points of commercial banks reached$ 3.6 billion from January to September 2019, Trend reports citing data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

Moreover, the volume of foreign currency purchases from the population amounted to $ 2.5 billion, and the volume of foreign currency sold to the population exceeded $1 billion. The difference between the purchase and sale of foreign currency funds served as an additional source of supply in the foreign exchange market, read the message.

From January to September this year, the total volume of international money transfers of the population amounted to $5.2 billion. Of these, $4.5 billion were sent to the country from abroad through a system of international money transfers, and foreign funds worth $800 million were transferred to foreign countries.

The volume of foreign currency receipts through international money transfers increased by 18 percent compared to the same period last year ($3.8 billion from January to September 2018).

The total volume of foreign exchange transactions of commercial banks in Over-The-Country currency market amounted to $5.2 billion.

Furthermore, commercial banks bought $3 billion in foreign currency from legal entities, and sold $2.2 billion.
