Georgia reduces export of copper ores to China

Georgia exported 54,865 tons of copper ores to China from January through September 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Copper ores were exported from Georgia to China for a total amount of $91 million.

On an annualized basis, Georgia reduced the export of copper ores by 37,189 tons, or 1.67 times. Over the same period last year, 92,054 tons of copper ores totaling $133.6 million were exported from Georgia to China.

For nine months of 2019, total imports to Georgia from China amounted to $647.2 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $125.1 million to China.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with China from January through September 2019 exceeded $772.3 million, which comprises 8.4 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.
