From January through September 2019, the total volume of operations on government securities in Azerbaijan amounted to slightly over 9.3 billion manat ($5.4 billion), Trend reports referring to the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA).
Moreover, in the same period of 2018, the volume of transactions in corporate securities amounted to over 9.6 billion manat ($5.6 billion). As a result, the growth in the total volume of transactions in the first nine months of 2019 amounted to 3.4 percent.
Among the operations, 1,184 transactions worth over 8.6 million manat were made in the primary market, which indicates 8.5 percent decrease. Their share amounted to 93 percent of the total amount and 74 percent of the total number of transactions in government securities.
Some 420 operations accounted for the secondary market with a total volume of 648.3 million manat ($381.3 million).
