By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Over 17,000 companies have been registered by foreign citizens in Georgia over the past four years, of which 31 percent are registered by Iranians, Trend reports with reference to Georgian Government Migration Commission.

According to Vice-President of the Georgian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce Vano Mtvralashvili, recent statistics show a steady increase in the number of companies registered by Iranian citizens.

The main and most serious problem in Georgia for Iranian citizens is the lack of bank transfers, and this greatly impedes the work of both Iranian business in Georgia and Georgian business in Iran, Mtvralashvili said.

As reported, 17,122 companies have been created by foreign citizens in Georgia over the past four years. Most of them are the citizens of Iran, Turkey, and Russia.

According to the commission, 31 percent of these companies are registered by Iranian citizens, 14 percent - by citizens of Turkey, 7 percent - by citizens of Russia, 6 percent - by citizens of India, 5 percent - by citizens of Ukraine, and 5 percent - by citizens of Azerbaijan.
