About 130 state-owned assets to be sold at auction in Georgia

About 130 state-owned assets are being sold at auction in Georgia, Trend reports citing Georgian media outlets.

The full list of buildings and land plots and recommendations for their use is published on the website of the National Agency of State Property.

As of now, the initial price of the most expensive state-owned asset on the auctions is 35 million lari ($11.8 million); this is non-agricultural land and buildings on it in Tbilisi, on Agmashenebeli Avenue.

The cheapest price, which is 10,000 lari ($33,629), is set for non-agricultural land in Gurjaani municipality, east Georgia.

The recommended number of land plots and buildings is also provided: for developers - 13, industrial/storage unit – 83, medical/educational institution – 5, sports infrastructure – 1, hotels – 28, fishing/farming – 5.

In Tbilisi, 14 assets are offered for privatization. The other assets are located in different cities and regions.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava said that 2,500 new jobs will be created as a result of this project.
