Number of insured cars increases in Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2

The number of insured cars in Georgia increased by 16.3 percent over the first nine months of 2019 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia.

In particular, 92,917 insurance policies were issued, which is 12,957 more than in the same period of 2018.

In the reporting period, insurance companies attracted premiums in the amount of 84.4 million lari ($28.4 million).

TBS Insurance ranks first in the volume of attracted premiums - 21.7 million lari ($7.3 million), which is 26 percent of the total premiums for car insurance.

Then follow JSC “Insurance Company Aldagi” - 16.7 million lari ($5.6 million) and 17 percent, JSC “Insurance Company GPI Holding” - 14.8 million lari ($4.9 million) and 15 percent, JSC “ARDI Insurance” 4.1 million lari ($1.3 million) and 5 percent), and JSC International Insurance Company “IRAO” - 3.9 million lari ($1.3 million) and 5 percent.

The remaining insurance companies account for 27 percent of total premiums for car insurance.
