External merchandise trade of Georgia increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $11.5 billion from January through November 2019, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

According to Geostat, this is 1.4 percent higher year-on-year.

The value of export increased by 11.7 percent reaching $3.3 billion, while the import decreased by 2.3 percent and amounted to $8.1 billion.

The trade deficit equaled $4.7 billion and its share in trade turnover constituted 41.2 percent.

External merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $10.3 billion from January through October 2019, 0.5 percent higher year-on-year.

From January through October the value of export increased by 10.4 percent reaching $3 billion, while the import decreased by 3.1 percent and amounted to $7.3 billion.
