What sector of Azerbaijan's economy accounts for biggest share of credit investments?

As of March 1, 2020, the biggest share of credit investments in Azerbaijan was in the household sector, amounting to 45.2 percent, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank's statistics bulletin of Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

The volume of loans in the household increased by 32.3 percent (1.7 billion manat that’s $1 billion) compared to the same period of last year, amounting to 7.1 billion manat ($4.2 billion).

The volume of loans in trade and services in late February 2020 increased by 9.9 percent (228.1 million manat that’s $134.2 million) compared to late February 2019, amounting to 2.5 billion manat ($1.5 billion), the share of the total volume of credit investments in this sector amounted to 16.1 percent of a total volume.

Loans in transport and communications amounted to 1.2 billion manat ($705.9 million), which is equivalent to 7.5 percent of total volume of loans in the real sector. Over the year, this figure fell by 13.7 percent or 26.7 million manat ($15.7 million).

The highest growth was recorded in industry and production – 56.3 percent.
